Tulip Festival
The City of Albany's highly anticipated spring tradition continues on May 8 - 10 where over 200,000 tulip bulbs blossom into a sea of colors just in time for this Mother’s Day celebration in Washington Park. Historic events take place annually, including the street scrubbing on State Street, the tradition of the Tulip Queen Coronation, Tulip Queen and Court Luncheon and Royal Tulip Ball. Yanni Voices
Yanni- the self-taught pianist, keyboardist, and composer- has teamed up with four talented vocalists, Nathan Pacheco, Leslie Mills, Ender Thomas and Chloe - and given them his music and let them create beautiful lyrics for his beloved music. Now this group, Yanni Voices, is stopping at the Times Union Center on May 15. Click here for details.

Save the Date: Sculpture in the Streets Garden Party
The Sculpture in the Streets Garden Party, a kickoff fundraising event introducing the 2009-2010 public art exhibit “Art of Discovery” sponsored by the Downtown Albany BID and Kivort Steel of Waterford, takes place on Friday, June 19th from 5:30pm – 9:00pm at Tricentennial Park.  Tickets will be $50 in advance/$65 at the door.

Downtown Albany Farmer's Market Moves To A New Home
Downtown Albany's Farmer's Market is moving from SUNY Plaza at the foot of State to it's new home, Maiden Lane Park at the corner of Broadway and Pine Street. This spring, vendors offering regional farm-fresh vegetables, plants, baked goods and more will set up at Maiden Lane Park on Thursdays from 11 am to 2 pm through the end of October (weather permitting).

Scholar Athlete Award Winners Night at "The Joe"
The Sports Foundation of the Capital Region is recognizing the past and present Scholar Award Winners throughout the Valley Cats game at "The Joe" on July 15th.  A $20 All-inclusive ticket includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, reserved box tickets and Valley Cats cap. Grand Stand Only tickets are also available for $5. Proceeds benefit The Sports Foundation of the Capital Region. For details Click here.

11 North Pearl Event Centre
The newly renovated building, formerly the Home Savings Bank, officially opened its doors Thursday, April 30th with an invitation-only premiere party. Classé Catering will book 11 North Pearl Street for wedding receptions, corporate functions and political fundraisers.  Click here for details.

DaleMiller
On April 29, Dale Miller celebrated the grand opening of his own restaurant, aptly named Dale Miller, located at 30 S. Pearl Street in Omni Plaza. It will include a full service eponymous restaurant with outdoor seating for 60, a penthouse level facility for signature events complete with a sky top terrace, and a To-Go kiosk that will open in August.
