Daniel Mozzes Design Opens Showroom in Downtown

Fashion designer Daniel Mozzes has opened his new showroom in downtown Albany, NY inside the newly renovated retail spaces of the Pearl Street Pub building. The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District was joined by Mayor Kathy Sheehan and property owners Chris Pratt, Euro Depoli, and Alessio Depoli in officially welcoming the new businesses, located at 61 N Pearl Street - Steuben Walk #1.

Designing pieces that have been worn everywhere from Capital Region events to the Oscars red carpet, the new studio comes five years after Mozzes began working on his independent label.

“As we continue to experience the transformation of Downtown, entrepreneurs like Daniel Mozzes serve as a catalyst to attract additional businesses, residents, visitors, and employees,” said Georgette Steffens, Downtown Albany BID executive director. “Our District is largely comprised of locally-owned businesses and supporting them is a point of pride for many who live, work, and play here; Daniel Mozzes Design offers one more opportunity to experience all that our Capital City has to offer.”

“Moving to a street-level space and being part of the transformation happening in Downtown are very exciting for me,” said Mozzes, who has studied and lived in Europe, South America, and North America. “I’ve had a lifelong fascination with clothing, and the idea of bringing to life something that was once a sketch led me to fashion design. The experience of seeing women put on my clothing and suddenly feeling so much better about themselves is a dream come true.”

Daniel Mozzes Design marks the seventh retailer to open within the last year in Downtown; in 2016, Fifth Tier Baking Studio, Lucky Cat Laundromat, Stacks Espresso Bar, Steuben Street Market, Trinbago Caribbean Restaurant, and Spa Wellington opened.
