Once you spend time in downtown Albany, you'll understand how easy it is to navigate our streets and locate parking.

Metered Parking

A multitude of metered parking spaces can be found along downtown streets. These spaces are FREE every weekday evening after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends and holidays (meter charges apply during weekday mornings and afternoons).

Please be aware that Thursday - Saturday night parking restrictions apply along North Pearl Street. Please read signs carefully.

In Garages & Lots

A large number of public garages and surface lots offer daily, monthly and event-related parking in and around downtown Albany. All are conveniently located within a few blocks of downtown's most popular dining, performance and event destinations.

Downtown Valet Services

Downtown Albany offers Valet Parking and Taxi Stand services every Thursday – Saturday evening.   Whether you are coming for dinner, a show or just to meet friends, fast, convenient and affordable parking is available.  For only $7, visitors are able to drop off their cars and walk to the many nearby dining and entertainment destinations.

On Thursday’s during Alive at 5 (through August 15) the drop-off and pick-up area is located on the west side of North Pearl Street, between Van Tromp and Sheridan, across from Capital Repertory Theatre.  On Friday and Saturday evenings the drop-off and pick-up area is on the west of North Pearl Street between Steuben Place (Jillian’s) and Columbia Street (Bayou Café). 

Hours of operation are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Valet services will be operated by LAZ Parking, an international parking management company, which manages the garage at the Crowne Plaza hotel where vehicles will be parked.

Visitors pulling up to the valet stand are greeted by a parking valet who will accept the driver's keys and payment, present the driver with a valet ticket, and ask for an estimated time of return. When ready to retrieve their cars, visitors simply return to the valet stand and present their ticket.

Please be responsible. Please do not drink and drive. This program is being offered for your safety and convenience. To avoid driving while under the influence - you may leave your car overnight and get a safe ride or take a cab home. You will be able to retrieve you vehicle the next morning from the Crowne Plaza garage office on Pine Street until 8:00 a.m. at no additional charge. After 8:00 a.m. regular garage-rates will apply.

The Valet service pilot program will continue through mid fall.

Taxi Stand

Please be responsible – don’t drink and drive. A Taxi Stand is available on the east side of North Pearl Street between Steuben Place and Columbia Street. Click here for details
