Beer, Brewing and Politics As Usual: A Look at Albany History!

The Irish American Heritage Museum will host Beer, Brewing and Politics As Usual: A Look at Albany History! on May 31 at 7:00 PM.

$3 to attend

A conversation with Craig Gravina and Hon Jack McEneny who will elucidate on prohibition, politics, and power. From its earliest inception the wealthy and politically connected have controlled who got or didn’t get alcohol in the city. Albany’s politicos were often instrumental in doling out the hooch! Be it through strong-arm tactics or regulation, controlling minorities, or paying off debts, alcohol was a useful tool to help maintain political control. That trend reaches back as far as the first Patroon and the early Dutch gentry.

Loch & Quay (414 Broadway) will have a special promotion for attendees of the Museum event.
