National Coffee with a Cop Day

National Coffee with a Cop Day

at the Bull Moose Club | 150 State Street

On Wednesday, October 3, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, the Albany Police Department will be participating in National Coffee with a Cop Day at Police Headquarters (165 Henry Johnson Boulevard).

At the event, members of the community will be able to enjoy a free cup of coffee and meet with members of the Albany Police Department, while also having the opportunity to see various departmental equipment and resources that will be on display.

For those who are downtown and are unable to make the main event at police headquarters, The Bull Moose Club (150 State Street, 4th Floor) will be hosting a smaller scaled event at their location in which those in attendance can meet and chat with the downtown beat officers.

“Coffee with a Cop” is an innovative program that was started by the Hawthorne, California Police Department in 2011 to help build relationships and open up dialogue between members of the community and the police department. Since then, police agencies all across the country have begun to participate in “Coffee with a Cop.” The United States Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office and many police agencies will be taking part in the nationwide event.
