Sock Out Cancer

Sock Out Cancer

at The Palace Theatre

Sock Out Cancer™ is proud to present a benefit concert featuring the internationally renowned ensemble William Close and The Earth Harp Collective. The stunning centerpiece of the concert will be the Earth Harp—an instrument invented and created by William Close. The Earth Harp’s giant strings will run from the stage out over the audience, transforming the theatre into an instrument and allowing the audience to experience the music literally from within the instrument. According to an article published in The New York Times, “It’s like sitting inside a giant cello.”

Tickets | $38.00 - $58.00 | Purchase online

William Close and The Earth Harp Collective have received standing ovations throughout the world for their original hybrid of classical and contemporary music. Close was a finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and he was recently named by the World Record Academy as creating and holding the record for the world’s largest stringed instrument. In addition, Close has recorded music for Game Of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi for Guillermo del Toro’s film Pacific Rim.

You won’t want to miss this amazing musical experience. And even more important, net proceeds from the concert will go to the foundations of Albany Medical Center and St. Peter’s Hospital to assist financially distressed families right here in our own community so they can focus all their efforts on winning their battle against cancer.
