ALBANY, NY— January 2, 2018 — Palace Performing Arts Center and the City of Albany have completed the sale and transfer of the Palace Theatre property in downtown Albany, an important milestone in a long-term plan to renovate and expand the historic entertainment venue.
The 9th Annual Albany Chefs' Food & Wine Festival: Wine & Dine for the Arts will be held January 11 to 13 at the Empire State Plaza. The festival offers food from more than 70 regional chefs and over 250 global wines, spirits and craft beers of New York State will be featured for sampling.
In Fall 2017, students from the undergraduate program in Urban Studies and Planning at the University at Albany participated in an intensive community development project focused on revitalizing Downtown Albany. The course was taught by Dr. Carlos Balsas, AICP.
The Fort Orange General Store will celebrate its inaugural holiday season with a Holiday Market in The Arcade Building (488 Broadway) and the Fort Orange General Store (412 Broadway) in downtown Albany!

Historic Albany Foundation has unveiled two large graphics on the Van Ostrande-Radliff House, Albany's oldest existing building that's also known as 48 Hudson Avenue. The "This Place Matters" project was introduced in mid-June and is intended to expand awareness about 48 Hudson and its significant as Albany's oldest remaining urban Dutch building in the Hudson Valley.
The wait for bike sharing in the region is nearly over as CDTA has announced the locations where CDPHP Cycle! stations will be placed. In total, 160 bikes will be available at 38 locations spanning four counties in densely populated, easily accessible areas.
