Dutch Apple Cruises

The Dutch Apple II was built at Scarano Boat Building Inc, in 1986. The boat is derived from popular Hudson River Dayliners of an earlier era.

The dayliners plied the waters of the Hudson River ferrying passengers to and from ports along the way between Albany and New York City.

In designing the boat and whenever practical, Scarano utilized wood species that are both indigenous to the region and traditional for building boats. The result is a blend of classic styling and warm elegance.

USS Slater - DE766

During World War II, 563 Destroyer Escorts battled Nazi U-boats on the North Atlantic protecting convoys of men and material. In the Pacific they stood in line to defend naval task forces from Japanese submarines and Kamikaze air attacks. Today, only one of these ships remains afloat in the United States, the USS SLATER.

Ten Broeck Mansion

Since 1942, the Albany County Historical Association has been interpreting Albany's history. In 1948, the ACHA was charged with the stewardship of the historic Ten Broeck Mansion, and for more than a half-century has been maintaining, preserving and making historically accurate renovations for the benefit and enjoyment of the community, and to ensure the integrity and history that the mansion stands for.

Stephen & Harriet Myers Residence

An outstanding artifact of the Anti-slavery and Underground Railroad period is the Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence located at 194 Livingston Avenue in Albany, New York. As is known, Stephen and Harriet Myers were the point people in Albany regarding the Underground Railroad in the 1850’s. While they lived at a variety of buildings in Arbor Hill in the 1850’s, this is the only one that still stands.
