Update >> Thank you to all artists who applied to participate! Due to the overwhelming response to the call for artists, the BID has decided to place out 20 statues instead of the originally planned 10.
NCAA Chooses Times Union Center for Championship Site
The NCAA has awarded the 2019 Division I Women’s Basketball Regional and the 2020 Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Round championships to the Times Union Center. More than great for fans, the news also means a substantial economic impact for the area; according to Destination Marketing Association International, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball is projecting an impact of $3.25M. In 2015, NCAA women’s basketball brought in $1.3M in total sales, including $793K in direct sales.
Downtown Albany BID Annual Meeting
The Downtown Albany BID will host our 2017 annual meeting on May 3 beginning at 5:00 PM at Sixty State Place (60 State Street). Join us as we reflect on the accomplishments of 2016 and look ahead to the projects we have in the pipeline for 2017.
This year, the BID will honor Anders Tomson, President & CEO Chemung Canal Trust Company, with the 2017 James M. DiNapoli Award.

LOOK! Photo Paste-Up
Albany Center Gallery will host part two of the LOOK! Youth Art Month on April 22 from Noon to 2:00 PM with the photo paste-up at James Street and Maiden Lane.
Fashion On Pearl 2017
Please join Daniel Mozzes Designs, Downtown Pearl St Merchants, and Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of Albany as Pearl Street, between Pine Street and Columbia Street, is converted into an outdoor fashion runway on May 20 from 6:30-9:30 PM. Fashion On Pearl inugural event will be feature models wearing clothing designed by Daniel Mozzes Designs.
Eastbound Jesus will perform at The Hollow Bar + Kitchen on April 15. Doors at 7:00 PM. Special guests Elrod&Motherjudge and Grassroots Rebels.
