Albany's Haunted History | Free Walking Tour


Albany City Hall will host a free walking tour of Albany's Haunted History on October 11 at 6:00 PM. Free and open to the public.

The tour will be led by Paul Nooney, who has been leading Ghost Tours of Albany and Troy since 2008.

At 5:00 PM, a reception will be held with light refreshments and information about the different Albany walking tours. At 6:00 PM the one-hour tour will begin.

Confetti Fest 12


Community theatre company Confetti Stage presents Confetti Fest 12 from October 7 - 16.

These plays have been edited, reworked, polished, and spell-checked during an intensive pre-production workshop process, allowing each writer the oppurtunity to learn and grow as a playwright, and creating the very best possible show for our audience.

Author William Kennedy will speak at SUNY Plaza (353 Broadway) on October 5 in the Small Courtroom of the Federal Building at 7:00 PM as part of the New York State Writers Institute. Free and open to the public.

Signs of Greatness Launch Party


As Downtown is in the midst of transforming into to Albany’s newest neighborhood, the Downtown Albany BID is taking a step back in time to showcase from where the Capital City has come. This fall, the BID will install Signs of Greatness: Albany Stories throughout the District. Comprised of 11 interpretive panels which will be permanently displayed, the exhibit will highlight Albany’s Dutch founding and early development with state, national, and arguably international, significance.

Albany Center Gallery will host the exhibit Where Things Go, featuring 12 wall sculptures by Paul Mauren, from October 7 - November 4. The opening reception will be October 7 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
