The Albany County Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning's primary mission is to study the planning, economic development, and conservation needs of Albany County; to formulate and/or carry out plans and recommendations which promote sound and coordinated planning of the entire County; to advise the County Executive, County Legislature, and County Planning Board in such matters.

 

We provide support for the Planning Board and, as such, provide information and technical expertise to assist with their review of land use, zoning, and subdivision applications.

 

The department is headed by a Director who is appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the Legislature.
