The Albany County Division of Finance is responsible for the administration of the financial affairs of the County, including:
- Receipt, custody and investment of public funds;
- Collecting County taxes and maintaining delinquent tax records;
- Administering court and trust actions (Unclaimed and Abandoned Funds Listing); and
- Disbursing County funds.

- Process payment of claims to Albany County vendors
- Pay taxes by installment
- Bail depository and release
- Distribute sales taxes to cities and towns (40% of local sales tax)
- Collect hotel and motel taxes - support Civic Center and Convention Bureau
