Greenberg Traurig's Albany office has a diverse practice that includes a full complement of attorneys and lobbyists who have spent years solving real-world problems in the business, political, and legal environments. The Albany team represents a wide range of clients, from small and medium businesses to Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, trade associations, political parties and committees, and other entities, in legislative and regulatory matters.
What We Do
The Albany team helps clients navigate the government process. Whether defending against executive or legislative action, or working to resolve a legal challenge that impacts business, Greenberg Traurig lawyers and lobbyists craft advocacy approaches tailored to the specific needs of our individual clients. The team represents clients before the Governor and executive branch agencies, State legislature, public authorities, and public regulatory agencies in supporting or opposing legislation, obtaining financial support or economic benefits, and negotiating procurement matters, as well as litigating resolutions or disputes. This includes representing clients during investigations by the Attorney General, Medicaid Inspector General, or other government agencies; resolving clients’ regulatory issues; and advising clients on how to comply with New York State’s complex lobbying and campaign finance laws.
In particular, we have deep experience in various areas including energy, environmental, health care, technology, media, insurance/financial services, education, gaming, transportation, and real estate/housing.
