Downtown Albany
The Historic Albany foundation hosts tours of the Van Ostrande-Radliff House at 48 Hudson Avenue, the oldest building in Albany, on First Fridays June through October. The free tours are 25 minutes long and begin at 5:30 PM, 6:00 PM, and 6:30 PM.
Registration is required.
We love to show off our Dutch style timber framed house! Come get your history nerd on a bit and check out the early Colonial Dutch architecture. With phases 1 and 2 of the restoration complete, Historic Albany will begin restoring the building in earnest in July 2023. Each month you can see the progress made and watch Albany's oldest building go back in time.
Your guide will share about the architecture, the house's many families and all of the different things they did there. Knit underpants? Biscuits and candy? Stitching wax?? What does all of this have to do with the Van Ostrande-Radliff House? Come and find out!
