Confetti Stage, Inc. will host auditions for "Stage Kiss" on December 17 and 18 from 6:30-9:00 PM. Auditions take place at 67 Corning Place.
About "Stage Kiss":
Art and life imitate one another, and the line between the two occasionally grows thin. What happens when a married actress finds herself cast opposite an ex boyfriend as romantic leads in a long forgotten, badly written melodrama? Staged intimacy reignites the spark between them, and she suddenly finds herself torn between her husband and her great lost love. “Stage Kiss” is a comic love letter to theatre people and the strange things we do for our art.
We are looking for actors to fill the following roles:
- She – A woman in her late 30’s to early 40’s. A married woman with a teenage daughter who previously dated He. A capable professional actor. Plays Ada Wilcox in the play within the play.
- He – A man close in age to She. His current relationship is much less serious than She’s. Plays Johnny Lowell in the play within the play.
- Director – Adrian Schwalbach. Neurotic. Good enough at his job, but convinced he’s great at it.
- Kevin – the play’s reader and understudy. Young and eager to impress. Openly gay. Plays the butler and the doctor in the play within the play.
- Harry – She’s husband. A levelheaded banker who’s accustomed to and annoyed by his wife’s indiscretions. Always the voice of reason.
- Laurie – He’s girlfriend. A caring teacher who is hurt by He’s affair. The “mom friend” who needs to take care of everyone. Plays Millicent, an over-the-top heiress in the play within the play.
- Angela – She’s straight-talking daughter who’s as annoyed with her mother’s affairs as her father. Thinks everything sucks. Plays the maid in the play within a play. Seeking an adult actor to play younger.
