The USS Slater hosts a celebration of the US Navy's 248th birthday on Friday, October 13. A 10:00 AM ceremony will honor the USS Slater's Volunteers of the Year Larry Williams and Jim Gelston. The Slater will be open for tours following the ceremony until 4:00 PM.
US Navy Veterans can tour the ship for free. Tours start every 30 minutes and visitors can purchase tickets at the door.

USS SLATER, the last Destroyer Escort afloat in America, is open to the public for her 26 th season in Albany. Guided tours start every 30 minutes. No reservations are required. USS SLATER is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM, through Sunday November 26 th 2023. The ship is located in Downtown Albany at the intersection of Broadway and Quay Street.
