Albany Capital Center to host boys' state volleyball tournament
The Albany Capital Center has been chosen as the hosting venue for the state boys volleyball tournament beginning in the fall of 2018. The convention center announced a three-year run following a vote on July 25th by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Central Committee.
The tournament will include both Division 1 and Division 2 semifinal pool matches and championships. The athletic association hosts 32 high school state championships annually and bids out all of its events with approvals required by its staff, sport committee and board. The Albany Capital Center, which opened in March and is adjacent to the Times Union Center, includes three full-size basketball courts.
