Registration open for Barkitecture Albany
Registration is now open for the first Barkitecture Albany event. Anyone - students, scouts, designers, carpenters, builders, architects - can take part in this competition for which you'll create a one-of-a-kind dog house, cat condo, or piece of pet furniture. The built designs will be placed on display at various businesses around downtown Albany for two weeks as part of the Barkitecture Home Tour, then auctioned off in September with funds benefiting the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and Steve Caporizzo's Pet Connection. The entry fee is $25.
You do not have to be a professional or work with a business to be part of the event; the competition is open to builders, architects, designers, engineers, landscapers, contractors, and others who have a desire to build furry friends some shelter. Award categories are Best in Show, Peoples Choice, Best Classic Design, Most Creative Design, and Most Innovative/Sustainable Design. Learn more.
