Who's ready to Shop Small this holiday season?! By doing so, you'll make a big difference to entrepreneurs and the local community, and downtown Albany's locally-owned businesses are gearing up for Small Business Saturday (November 30). As part of the national celebration of small businesses kicking off this holiday shopping season, many Downtown businesses will offer specials and deals. Don't forget to check out our Downtown Gift Guide for some shopping inspiration!

 

Shop small and win BIG during this year's Small Business Saturday! Over $300 in gift certificates will be hidden in Downtown businesses as part of our Shop Small Scavenger Hunt, which starts at 12:30 PM and runs until all prizes have been found.

 

Plus: show your love for downtown Albany's independent retailers and restaurants by using the hashtag #ShopSmall518 on November 30 to be entered to win a prize pack valued at over $200.

  • Bombshell Hair and Beauty Studio: Keratin treatment vouchers onsale for $250 (normally $300); gift cards buy $100 get $20 free.
  • City Beer Hall: Holiday gift card sale (November 29 - December 30).
  • Dawn's Victory Sports Cafe: Small Business Saturday specials.
  • Discover Albany Visitors Center: 10% off selected gift shop items.
  • Downtown Studio Fit: 50% off the one-time registration fee. Offer valid November 27-December 1; redeem in-person at the studio, by phone, email, or Facebook during this timeframe. Classes during the holiday weekend will be $5; check website or Facebook page for holiday class schedule.
  • The Enchanted Florist of Albany: Special hours 10 AM - 3 PM; Holiday Open House event; pop-up shop with local jewelry artisan Dee Burkins Designs.
  • The Excelsior Pub: Discounted EPC membership available for $50 (includes happy hour draft pricing all day for purchaser), gift cards available for purchase.
  • The Fifth Tier Baking Studio: Special hours: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM; $30 Bake Your Own Scone Kits (normally $42); gift certificates buy $20, get $5 free (to be used after 11/30, limit 2 per person); all 16 oz beverages $1 with any baked good purchase.
  • Fort Orange General Store: Free $10 gift card for future purchase with any purchase of $100 or more (limit one per customer). 
  • Historic Downtown Albany Food Tour by Taste of Troy Food Tours: Purchase a two-ticket gift certificate on Small Business Saturday and your gift recipient will receive a 2 oz. bottle of Nine Pin Cider maple syrup and a bar of locally made chocolate when arriving for the tour. (Online deal only).
  • Irish American Heritage Museum: 10% off gift shop purchases
  • La Serre: Free $25 gift certificate to be used toward dinner
  • Loch & Quay: $3 off brunch items and $1 off draft beers and brunch cocktails
  • Olde English Pub & Pantry: $25 gift cards on sale for $20; discounted merchandise and growler fills on every draught line
  • Parish Public House: Small Business Saturday specials

  • Truman Jewelers: Special Small Business Saturday hours 11 AM - 3 PM; 10%-30% off select items
  • The Yard: Online only gift card sale (through December 2); visit www.theyardalbany.com to purchase. The Yard is an axe-throwing and indoor lawn game venue coming soon to 16 Sheridan Ave.
