ALBANY, NY – Mayor Kathy Sheehan and the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) welcomed business owner Lea Demonia on Friday, September 20, 2019 with a ribbon cutting for her latest venture Downtown Studio Fit.
Downtown Studio Fit is a new addition to the burgeoning wellness and beauty business community located on Steuben Alley, the pedestrian stretch of storefronts along the side of the Pearl Street Pub building.
Downtown Studio Fit is a unique Albany-based Fitness and Wellness Studio which provides a wide variety of daily group exercise classes along with the opportunity for individualized training and nutrition coaching services. With a total of seven instructors, including Ms. Demonia, whom has five years of experience as a fitness instructor herself, the classes range from low to high intensity and all formats can be modified for all fitness levels.
Open six days a week, the Studio offers lunchtime and evening hours. On-site childcare is also available in the evenings. Classes include: Zumba®, Pilates, Yoga, Barre Flow, Pound, Kickboxing/Core de Force, Functional Fit Camp, Fit Strength, and PiYo.
“I wanted a place where everyone would feel welcome and supported. A place where the fittest of the fit would get the variety and challenge they need, and where those new to fitness, or who are coming back to it after a long-time away, can find their path to success,” stated Lea Demonia, owner of Downtown Studio Fit. “My goal is that every client will leave possessing the skills and knowledge to independently maintain their healthy lifestyle and I am excited about doing that here in the Capital City.”
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy,” said Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan. “We are thrilled that Downtown Studio Fit has chosen Downtown Albany as their home and look forward to seeing the success Ms. Demonia will experience here in her new location.”
“With 20,000 daytime employees, over 1,000 residents, and another 600 apartments under construction, all within walking distance from the new studio, the timing is great to open a new business in Albany’s fastest growing neighborhood,” said Georgette Steffens, executive director of the Downtown Albany BID. “Downtown Studio Fit is an incredible amenity, offering health and well-being for those who live and work in Downtown.”
To celebrate the Grand Opening, Downtown Studio Fit will be offering a $5 Class Special on classes this weekend, as well as prize giveaways all weekend long. For more information on Downtown Studio Fit and available classes, visit downtownstudiofit.com.
