ALBANY, NY – The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID), Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and Assemblymember John T. McDonald III joined Rivkin Radler partners, attorneys and staff on November 7 in officially welcoming the law firm to Downtown. Located at 66 S Pearl Street, the move comes as partners sought the benefit of a central business district location; the new office is home to 26 employees, including seven attorneys named to the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Lawyers list.

With over 20 practice areas, Rivkin Radler offers communication in over 15 languages and represents individuals, middle-market companies, and large corporations. The 11th floor, 10,600-square-foot space, led by partners Richard Frankel, Carol Hyde, Robert Iseman, James Lagios, John Queenan, and Karen Sosler, has room to hold the current 14 attorneys and staff members with room to grow.

Founded in 1950, many of Rivkin Radler attorneys have received Martindale Hubbell’s AV Preeminent® ranking, signifying that “a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence,” and have been recognized as leaders by peer review programs, including Best Lawyers/U.S. News & World Report and Super Lawyers. The firm is also listed by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. The firm is nationally recognized and was named an American Lawyer Media “Go-To” Firm by its clients, and is among the National Law Journal’s 250 largest firms in the U.S.

“Downtown Albany continues to transform into a neighborhood of choice by attracting companies of all sizes to compliment the many new residential opportunities – helping create a welcoming hub where individuals can both live and work,” said Mayor Sheehan.  “We are excited Rivkin Radler has chosen Albany’s newest neighborhood for their new home and wish them continued success here in New York’s Capital City.”

“It is a pleasure to welcome Rivkin Radler and its 26 employees to downtown Albany. Downtown Albany is an ideal location for law firms with close proximity to the various court systems along with numerous dining options and the opportunity to live in a walkable neighborhood,” said Assemblymember McDonald.

The Downtown location was fully renovated for Rivkin Radler, offering a more contemporary, efficient and open setting than the mansion they’d previously operated out of. Officially having opened in Downtown on October 7, benefits of the move from Washington Park area became immediately clear through the technologically advanced and dynamic new offices and proximity to current and future clients.

“We are delighted to now call Downtown our Albany home. The central location is close to key clients and transportation; easily connecting our 5 offices. Our beautiful 11th floor perch gives us a spectacular view of the city and surrounds and provides for a vibrant and open office space, which is well-suited for the collaborative and creative work we do on behalf of our clients,” said Evan H. Krinick, Rivkin Radler’s managing partner.

“We’ve enjoyed our stately and bucolic Washington Park setting, but after our merger with Rivkin Radler, our trajectory capabilities and regional practices have expanded dramatically. It’s exciting and energizing to now be in Downtown and we look forward to the continued growth of our firm,” said John Queenan, a partner resident in Rivkin Radler’s Albany office.

“Downtown continues to be a leading location for business. As they open their office in the heart of the region and the seat of government, nationally-recognized industry leaders Rivkin Radler are in good company as their neighbors include three companies named Best Places to Work in the region and two of the country’s privately-held fastest-growing companies,” said Georgette Steffens, executive director of the Downtown Albany BID. “We continue to welcome business leaders who understand the benefits our District offers and are choosing Downtown to attract top talent that increasingly seeks a walkable, vibrant urban center in which to work.”
