The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) was joined by Mayor Kathy Sheehan, County Executive Daniel McCoy representative Matt Cannon, property owner Jack Yonally, and business owner Lyle Houston on February 14 in officially welcoming The Fifth Tier Baking Studio to Downtown to 54 Columbia Street. A state employee from the age of 18, Houston, now 44, has always been interested in baking. Unfulfilled by his career, he began taking classes at Schenectady County Community College and later at the Culinary Institute of America.

Snow Emergency Information | February 13 - 14


The City of Albany, NY has issued a snow emergency that will begin at 8:00 PM tonight, February 13, at which time all normal parking rules and regulations are temporarily suspended.

During the first 24 hours of the snow emergency, all vehicles must be parked on the even-numbered side of the street.

Beginning at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, all vehicles must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street for the next 24-hour period.
