Albany Center Gallery is a non-profit art space dedicated to exhibiting skillful contemporary art of the Mohawk Hudson region, and building a strong, knowledgeable audience for the visual arts. We are a community-based and community supported organization. Albany Center Gallery is supported by city, state, corporate and foundation funds, as well as fundraisers, individual donations and memberships.

Youth Art Series: LOOK!:

Albany Center Gallery hosts monthly youth art workshops (coined Art.Work.Space.) in partnership with The RED Bookshelf. The programs are led by local artist mentors on the 2nd Saturday of each month throughout the year. The themes of the workshops will depend on what the youth want and the medium(s) of each artist. We plan to have workshops in writing, mural painting, screen printing, comic book making, collaging, clothing design, graphic design, watercolor painting, music, poetry, literacy, and more! Mission:

Albany Center Gallery promotes and exhibits art produced by the region’s emerging and established artists and engages, enriches, and inspires the community to appreciate the importance of art.

We do this by:

  1. Providing opportunities for artists to become highly valued and respected
  2. Committing gallery exhibitions to local and regional visual artists from all backgrounds
  3. Educating the public, with an emphasis on local youth
  4. Fostering dialogue about the arts
  5. Collaborating with community partners to advance the creative economy
  6. Fusing the arts, community, and business sectors
  7. Making art accessible to all
