20 Years of Serving the Downtown Community
The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) celebrated 20 years of serving the Downtown community at its Annual Meeting held June 1 at the Palace Theatre. The event served to commemorate the District’s transformation, announce the Board’s new Board Members and Officers, and brought together current and former BID Board and staff members, property and business owners, and elected officials.

Albany Devils Take on Toronto Marlies in Playoffs
The Albany Devils have advanced in the Calder Cup Playoffs, and have won Game 1 in North Division Final best-of-seven series against the Toronto Marlies. The first two games are away, but you can cheer for the Times Union Center-based team in Downtown on Sunday, May 8 (Game 3 | 5:00 PM), Tuesday, May 10 (Game 4 | 7:00 PM) and, if necessary, Wednesday, May 12 (Game 5 | 7:00 PM).

Dining Out For Life Returns April 28
Dining Out For Life, the annual dining fundraising event that raises money for AIDS service organizations, returns to the area on April 28. If you're looking to try out a new Downtown restaurant - or just wanted a good excuse to return to your favorite place - now is a good time. A portion of your bill - percentage varies by location - will be donated to the Alliance for Positive Health, which helps those living with HIV/AIDS in the community as well as funds cutting-edge health programs.

The Palace Theatre announced this week that The Australian Pink Floyd Show will perform at the historic venue on August 13 at 8:00 PM. Selling 4 million tickets worldwide and described by The Times as "The Gold Standard" and The Daily Mirror as "The Kings of the Genre", The Australian Pink Floyd Show gave its first ever concert in Adelaide, Australia in 1988.
