The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) held a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany Downtown at 74 State Street in January 2016. The property, formerly 74 State Hotel, was completely renovated to reflect the Fairfield flag from new carpets, bedding, and decor in the 75 rooms and suites, which are now equipped with ample workspaces, and conversion of a second-floor bar and restaurant into a state of the art fitness center that overlooks State Street.

Pickle(d) Perfection Achieved
The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) announces the winners of Food Fight | Pickle(d) Edition held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from Noon to 3:00 PM throughout the streets of downtown Albany. The pickle competition consisted of 17 venues providing the public with pickle(d) items over the course of three hours. Judging for Food Fight was conducted by Kelly Hillis, proprietor of Greenwich-based Puckers Gourmet Pickles.
