The Albany County Attorney’s Office is a public law firm staffed by ten attorneys, one confidential secretary, one legal secretary, a paralegal and a receptionist. We provide legal counsel and advice on an extraordinary range of often complex subjects and encounter some of the most diverse and challenging issues found in any municipal law practice.
Albany Convention Center Authority
The Albany Convention Center Authority was created in 2004 as a public benefit corporation by the enactment of Title 28-BB of the Public Authorities Law. The Authority was created to meet an immediate need to institute a comprehensive, coordinated program of convention activities in the city of Albany. It will provide the City of Albany with the ability to develop, renovate and undertake economic development projects in the historic downtown area to optimize the economic and social activities of city and its environs.
African American Cultural Center
The African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region (AACCR) is committed to educating, enriching, and empowering resients of the Capital Region. Serving Albany, Troy, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Saratoga, Schoharie, Fulton and Montgomery counties. AACCR promotes awareness of the rich and vibrant history, contribution, and culture of African Americans through educational, cultural and performing arts, unique programs, activities and exhibits. The Center is a source of community renewal and investment.
NYCAN is a branch of 50CAN: The 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now, a national network of state-level advocacy groups fighting to enact research-based education reforms that will give every child in their state access to a great school.
