The 2nd Albany Improv Festival will be held on April 22 from Noon to 10:00 PM in The Upper Room (inside the Pearl Street Pub). Proceeds benefit the Albany Damien Center.

Guest Bartending Event


Pearl Street Pub will host a guest bartending event on March 22 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Proceeds will benefit Best Buddies.

A special signature cocktail will be available, and 100% of sales will be donated to the organization that matches student volunteers with people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Tip jars will also be available for people to donate to Best Buddies.

When Women Lead: Intersectional Perspectives on Working for Social Justice


The City of Albany invites you to celebrate Women's History Month with the program When Women Lead: Intersectional Perspectives on Working for Social Justice on March 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Free and open to the public.

We are seeing many examples of women's leadership and successful organizing during this period. Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Women's Studies scholar Barbara Smith will discuss women's participation in movements for social justice and the need to recognize the impact of race and class as well as gender and sexuality when working to make change.
